Kindness and Love+ Remembering Princess Diana

Today's song in my CD Player and my heart

"The true essence of humankind is kindness. There are other qualities which come from education or knowledge, but it is essential, if one wishes to be a genuine human being and impart satisfying meaning to one’s existence, to have a good heart."

-Tenzin Gyatso,
The 14th Dalai Lama

There is a feel of fall in our air.
The blue crane was once again down at the creek.
We got our last fill of corn from the farmers stand down the road........
Soon I will begin to roast my red shepherd peppers on the barbecue and freeze them for winter.............

The mornings are dark until after 6:45 now
There was a little garter snake in our front yard yesterday.

I am wishing you a fabulous last day of August..............
The summer zipped on by at a pace faster than anyone could ever imagine.

On Love
Then said Almitra, "Speak to us of Love."
And he raised his head and looked upon the people, and there fell a stillness upon them. And with a great voice he said:
When love beckons to you follow him,
Though his ways are hard and steep.
And when his wings enfold you yield to him,
Though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you. And when he speaks to you believe in him,
Though his voice may shatter your dreams as the north wind lays waste the garden.
For even as love crowns you so shall he crucify you. Even as he is for your growth so is he for your pruning.
Even as he ascends to your height and caresses your tenderest branches that quiver in the sun,
So shall he descend to your roots and shake them in their clinging to the earth. Like sheaves of corn he gathers you unto himself.
He threshes you to make you naked.
He sifts you to free you from your husks.
He grinds you to whiteness.
He kneads you until you are pliant;
And then he assigns you to his sacred fire, that you may become sacred bread for God's sacred feast.
All these things shall love do unto you that you may know the secrets of your heart, and in that knowledge become a fragment of Life's heart.
But if in your fear you would seek only love's peace and love's pleasure,
Then it is better for you that you cover your nakedness and pass out of love's threshing-floor,
Into the seasonless world where you shall laugh, but not all of your laughter, and weep, but not all of your tears.
Love gives naught but itself and takes naught but from itself.
Love possesses not nor would it be possessed; For love is sufficient unto love. When you love you should not say, "God is in my heart," but rather, I am in the heart of God."
And think not you can direct the course of love, if it finds you worthy, directs your course.
Love has no other desire but to fulfil itself.
But if you love and must needs have desires, let these be your desires:
To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night.
To know the pain of too much tenderness.
To be wounded by your own understanding of love;
And to bleed willingly and joyfully.
To wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving;
To rest at the noon hour and meditate love's ecstasy;
To return home at eventide with gratitude;
And then to sleep with a prayer for the beloved in your heart and a song of praise upon your lips.

It is 12 years ago today since Princess Diana died♥

written by A. Powell Davies:

When sorrow comes, let us accept it simply, as a part of life.
Let the heart be open to pain; let it be stretched by it.
All the evidence we have says that this is the better way.
An open heart never grows bitter.
Or if it does, it cannot remain so.

In the desolate hour, there is an outcry; a clenching of the hands upon emptiness; a burning pain of bereavement; a weary ache of loss.

But anguish, like ecstasy, is not forever.
There comes a gentleness, a returning quietness, a restoring stillness.
This, too, is a door to life.

Here, also, is a deepening of meaning – and it can lead to dedication; a going forward to the triumph of the soul, the conquering of the wilderness. And in the process will come a deepening inward knowledge that in the final reckoning, all is well.

I believe that the very purpose of our life is to seek happiness.
That is clear. Whether one believes in religion or not......
we are all seeking something better in life......
I think the very motion of our life is towards happiness
The Dalai Lama

A Good Life

Do not worry;
Eat three square meals a day;
say your prayers;
be courteous to your creditors;
keep your digestion good;
exercise; go slowly and easy.
Maybe there are other things your special case
requires to make you happy;
but, my friend,
these I reckon will give you a good life.

by Abraham Lincoln

Life.........
A little house to keep
A little floor to sweep
A little meal to make
A little sweet to bake
A little friend to know
A little flower to grow
A little bird to sing
A little hand to cling
A little child's carress
A little life to bless
A little grief and pain
A little cheer again
A little fleeting day
A little prayer to say
A little house to keep
There is no joy so deep.

Three Little Birds

I love this song

My brother need not be idealized or enlarged in death beyond what he was in life, to be remembered as a good and decent man, who saw wrong and tried to right it, saw suffering and tried to heal it, saw war and tried to stop it.

Those of us who loved him and who take him to his rest today, pray that what he was to us and what he wished for others will some day come to pass for all the world.

Beautiful Butterflies

There are so many beautiful butterflies hovering like little Angels with wings in our gardens.
I saw a most vivid blue one the other day and a monarch was in our butterfly bush today.

How amazing and beautiful is all of nature.
My Sister went shopping for me yesterday and found me my butterfly dish I seen down south.

It is meant to be a bird bath but much too fragile to be kept outside.
I found a special spot for it this morning.

I seen my beautiful niece Erica and viewed her sparkling and beautiful engagement ring.
How precious is this time in our lives.
So many wonderful things to look forward to.

My husband and I seen our blue crane down at the creek this morning.
Fabulous friends had us over for dinner last night.
Fabulous summer evenings

Now tell me your events of the weekend?

Image of the blue butterfly from a Google Search

The one I seen looked very similar.

Spring flowers are popping up in New Zealand
My son has a very saturated schedule and does not have much time
for photographs
but the site Christ Church Daily
presents some beautiful images for you
That is where my Son lives right now.

We went to Vito's again
In love with the food at this restaurant.......

Grandma's Pearls of Wisdom

From a quote from a necklace from the Bradford Exchange

Grandma's Pearls of Wisdom

I've traveled paths you've yet to walk
Learned lessons old and new
And now this wisdom of my life
I'm blessed to share with you.

Let kindness spread like sunshine
Embrace those who are sad
Respect their dignity, give them joy
And leave them feeling glad.

Forgive those who might hurt you
And though you have your pride
Listen closely to their viewpoint
Try to see the other side.

Walk softly when you are angry
Try not to take offense
Invoke your sense of humor
Laughter's power is immense.

Express what you are feeling
Your beliefs you should uphold
Don't shy away from what is right
Be courageous and be bold.

Keep hope right in your pocket
It will guide you day by day
Take it out when it is needed
When it's near you'll find a way.

Remember friends and family
Of which you are a precious part
Love deeply and love truly
Give freely from the heart.

The world is far from perfect
There's conflict and there's strife
But you still can make a difference
By how you live your life.

And so I'm very blessed to know
The wonders you will do
Because you are my granddaughter
And I believe in you.

Picture of my Grandmother taken a few years back.

I adore my Grandmother and she is loved by everyone..........

Life is a series of new beginnnings

Some people care too much, I think it's called love.
~ Winnie the Pooh♥

Justin with my 2 nieces
taken last September 2008

Since then they have all become engaged and they are all busy
planning their weddings with the loves of their lives.........

Life is a series of new beginnings

I carry your heart with me
(I carry it in
my heart)
I am never without it(anywhere
I go you go,my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
I fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)
I want no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;
which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

I carry your heart(I carry it in my heart)

- E. E. Cummings

It is astonishing how short a time it takes for very wonderful things to happen."

The Rose of Sharon bloomed in our back yard for my sweet Sister Sharon
in Heaven!

Early to bed and early to rise
Makes a person healthy, wealthy and wise............

Are you an early riser?
I am and enjoy the quiet and solitudes of my mornings
embracing every sound and sight of nature

Two morning doves were drinking sweetly from one of our bird baths
Birds are singing
The wind chimes in our yard are singing a meloldy
The crickets this time of year perform their serenade
and I am seeing the leafs begin to have a hint of autumn hues

I am waiting for the new Victoria Magazine to come out and the
September Vogue
Was anyone lucky enough to see the new season of Mad Men

Share if you care........
I love that show
I love the clothes

Our Rose of Sharon has bloomed so sweetly
Thinking of my sweet Angel Sister Sharon in Heaven
She died 24 years ago today
God bless you my sweet Angel

My sweet little Sister Sharon
Kissing my Uncle Lloyd

Give me a kiss to build a dream on............
Have a fabulous Monday my darlings
It is supposed to rain here today.
Perhaps it will cool things off.

Bert Sommer Music and Bridal Veils

Bert Sommer as he performed at Woodstock 1969

40 Years just zipped on by..................

Photograph of me and my beloved Mother on my wedding day
and my treasured bridal veil sent to me as a gift for a keepsake treasure
It is from Budapest

And now one of my favorites:

This Marriage - Ode 2667

May these vows and this marriage be blessed.
May it be sweet milk,
this marriage, like wine and halvah.
May this marriage offer fruit and shade
like the date palm.
May this marriage be full of laughter,
our every day a day in paradise.
May this marriage be a sign of compassion,
a seal of happiness here and hereafter.
May this marriage have a fair face and a good name,
an omen as welcome
as the moon in a clear blue sky.
I am out of words to describe
how spirit mingles in this marriage.

Kabir Helminski "Love is a Stranger" Threshold Books, 1993

Oldest Bridal Tradition
The veil dates back to ancient Rome, when it was flame-yellow, always worn over the face, and called a flammeum.

What trivia can you tell me about bridal veils I would love to know.

Very treasured bridal veil
I have a love for brides all things bridal and especiall veils.............

Information from this blog(Information on Ireland and Fairies regarding bridal veils and wedding trivia)

Thank you for your information

The love you give away is the only love you keep"--Elbert Hubbard

Fairies are said to covet anything that is beautiful, which includes the bride and all her fineries.

The wedding veil has special meaning in Ireland. In ancient time, it was believed to hide the bride away from leprechauns and fairies who would try to capture the bride and take her beautiful dress. Today in Ireland, veils are often embroidered with shamrocks or the Claddagh symbol.

It is also lucky for the bride and groom to wear old shoes when they get married. This would prevent their being kidnapped by fairies. In County Cork, it is believed that fairies would whisk away the wedding couple to the "Land of the Ever Young," just to get a hold of a pair of handsome new shoes.

3 Years in Heaven today for my beloved Mother

Angel image as it appeared on my Mom's grave on her anniversary date last year
August 12, 2008 as I went to visit her on that date.

Thank you Ahram for your love. You bring so much joy to us all.
We love you♥

Every parting gives a foretaste of death,
every reunion a hint of the resurrection.
-- Arthur Schopenhauer

``What though the radiance which was once so bright

Be now forever taken from my sight,

Though nothing can bring back the hour

Of splendor in the grass, or glory in the flower;

We will grieve not, rather find

Strength in what remains behind;

In the primal sympathy

Which having been must ever be;

In the soothing thoughts that spring

Out of human suffering;

In the faith that looks through death,

In years that bring the philosophic mind."

Cherished and adorned in Heaven as she was on Earth

Those who live forever in our hearts are never far away.

Mom sent me beautiful rainbows in the sky and as always I feel her ever near
I love you Mom
I miss you Mom♥

I like this song

What I wrote for my Beloved Mother on the one year anniversary of her death.

To my Beloved Mother August 12, 2007
(One Year in Heaven)
I hope your days in Heaven Mom
Are of the happiest kind
A mother like you here on Earth
Is rare and hard to find
Each day I celebrate you
And all the joys we've shared
I always knew how much I was loved
And how very much you cared
We are not the same without you
And our hearts are always blue
And there is never a moment
That we are not missing you
But we carry on with grace and pride
The way you taught us to
I send my love to Heaven Mom and offer you a prayer
God wrapped you in His tender arms and now you're in His care.
So loving, so loved
We love you and miss you.

For my Beloved Mother

and a favorite piece of mine
called The Next Place

The Next Place
By Warren Hanson

The next place that I go
Will be as peaceful and familiar
As a sleepy summer Sunday
And a sweet, untroubled mind.
And yet . . .
It won't be anything like any place I've ever been. . .
Or seen. . . or even dreamed of
In the place I leave behind.
I won't know where I'm going,
And I won't know where I've been
As I tumble through the always
And look back toward the when.
I'll glide beyond the rainbows.
I'll drift above the sky.
I'll fly into the wonder, without ever wondering why.
I won't remember getting there.
Somehow I'll just arrive.
But I'll know that I belong there
And will feel much more alive
Than I have ever felt before.
I will be absolutely free of the things that I held onto
That were holding onto me.
The next place that I go
Will be so quiet and so still
That the whispered song of sweet belonging will rise up to fill
The listening sky with joyful silence,
And with unheard harmonies
Of music made by no one playing,
Like a hush upon breeze.
There will be no room for darkness in that place of living light,
Where an ever-dawning morning pushes back the dying night.
The very air will fill with brilliance, as the brightly shining sun
And the moon and half a million stars are married into one.
The next place that I go Won't really be a place at all.
There won't be any seasons --
Winter, summer, spring or fall --
Nor a Monday, Nor a Friday,
Nor December, Nor July.
And the seconds will be standing still. . .
While hours hurry by.
I will not be a boy or girl,
A woman or man.
I'll simply be just, simply, me.
No worse or better than.
My skin will not be dark or light.
I won't be fat or tall.
The body I once lived in
Won't be part of me at all.
I will finally be perfect.
I will be without a flaw.
I will never make one more mistake,
Or break the smallest law.
And the me that was impatient,
Or was angry, or unkind,
Will simply be a memory.
The me I left behind.
I will travel empty-handed.
There is not a single thing
I have collected in my life
That I would ever want to bring Except. . .
The love of those who loved me,
And the warmth of those who cared.
The happiness and memories
And magic that we shared.
Though I will know the joy of solitude. . .
I'll never be alone. I'll be embraced
By all the family and friends I've ever known.
Although I might not see their faces,
All our hearts will beat as one,
And the circle of our spirits
Will shine brighter than the sun.
I will cherish all the friendship I was fortunate to find,
All love and all the laughter in the place I leave behind.
All these good things will go with me.
They will make my spirit glow.
And that light will shine forever In the next place that I go.

Wedding Months

And if you’re wondering about the month you’ve chosen . . .

Married when the year is new, he’ll be loving, kind and true.

When February birds do mate, you wed nor dread your fate.

If you wed when March winds blow, joy and sorrow both you’ll know.

Marry in April when you can, Joy for Maiden and for Man.

Marry in the month of May, and you’ll surely rue the day.

Marry when June roses grow, over land and sea you’ll go.

Those who in July do wed, must labor for their daily bread.

Whoever wed in August be, many a change is sure to see.

Marry in September’s shrine, your living will be rich and fine.

If in October you do marry, love will come but riches tarry.

If you wed in bleak November, only joys will come, remember.

When December snows fall fast, marry and true love will last.
