Hummingbirds

Image scanned from a magazine I had

Photograph of the swan taken by my dear friend Dani and the quote below is by her as well.

Close your eyes And do not peek And I'll rub "spring" Across your cheek. Soft as velvet Smooth and sleek Close your eyes And do not peek.

I can hardly wait for the hummingbirds to return.

I mix 1 cup table sugar (cane) to 4 parts water
and change the feeders every 4 days.

Much love and many blessings to you all
It was raining this morning and is damp and cool out.

I love this poem so much
and was reminded of it again yesterday on my lovely friend's blog

Tea Time and Roses

Slowdance

Have you ever watched kids
on a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain
slapping on the ground?

Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?

You better slow down
Don't dance so fast
Time is short
The music won't last

Do you run through each day
On the fly
When you ask "How are you?"
Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done,
do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores
running through your head?

You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast

Time is short
The music won't last

Ever told a child,
We'll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste,
not see his sorrow?

Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die
'Cause you never had time
To call and say "Hi"?

You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast

Time is short
The music won't last

When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.

When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift....Thrown away...

Life is not a race.
Do take it slower

Hear the music
Before the song is over.

Here is here and we can cherish everyday. What a beautiful post full of wonderful poems. I am so excited about the hummingbirds. You can make a large batch of nectar and keep it in the refer for 2 weeks. Then you have even more time as they say " to stop and smell the roses" Thanks Jeanne -just lovely

Hi Jeanne,

Beautiful post and pictures.
We do not have hummingbirds here in NZ but love seeing them on the TV.
They must be lovely little birds.
Your new header is beautiful, looks so tranquil.

Enjoy the rest of the week
Hugs
Carolyn
