Faith

Can hardly wait for our loved ones to share all their photographs from their upcoming trip to Budapest where my precious Grandmother speaks of often.

Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

When you tell me you love me

One of my favorite songs by Diana Ross

I loved watching her on Oprah

I will never forget the times my late beloved Mom took me and my Sister to see her when she was with the Supremes

Diana Ross a young girl from Detroit that grew up in the Brewster projects.

Mom always taught us you can be anything you want in life.
She taught us all to live our dreams and make our lives our own personal fairy tales.

Every motown song is so very precious and dear to me.

Happy Friday

Photograph taken by me last week.

God paints for us each day a magnificent masterpiece.
Be sure to give thanks.

How do geese know when to fly to the sun? Who tells them the seasons? How do we, humans know when it is time to move on? As with the migrant birds, so surely with us, there is a voice within if only we would listen to it, that tells us certainly when to go forth into the unknown.” ~ Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

Bird

The trees in our yards will soon be full of the beauty of spring and full of birds.
I cannot wait to fill my hummingbird feeders in May.

Nature is truly divine
God paints for us a masterpiece each day to behold and be thankful.

Bird

It was passed from one bird to another,
the whole gift of the day.
The day went from flute to flute,
went dressed in vegetation,
in flights which opened a tunnel
through the wind would pass
to where birds were breaking open
the dense blue air -
and there, night came in.

When I returned from so many journeys,
I stayed suspended and green
between sun and geography -
I saw how wings worked,
how perfumes are transmitted
by feathery telegraph,
and from above I saw the path,
the springs and the roof tiles,
the fishermen at their trades,
the trousers of the foam;
I saw it all from my green sky.
I had no more alphabet
than the swallows in their courses,
the tiny, shining water
of the small bird on fire
which dances out of the pollen.

Two Travelling Angels

This was sent to me today by a dear friend.
It has always been of my favorites and time to post it again.

Two Traveling Angels....... this one will make you think twice!!!!! ..

Keep reading to the bottom of the page -- don't
stop at the feet (You'll see).

Two traveling angels stopped to spend the night in the home of a
wealthy family.

The family was rude and refused to let the angels stay in the
mansion's guest room.

Instead the angels were given a small space in the cold basement.

As they made their bed on the hard floor, the older angel saw a hole
in the wall and repaired it.

When the younger angel asked why, the older angel replied,

"Things aren't always what they seem"

The next night the pair came to rest at the house of a very poor, but
very hospitable farmer and his wife.

After sharing what little food they had the couple let the angels
sleep in their bed where they could have a good night's rest.

When the sun came up the next morning the angels found the farmer and his wife in tears.

Their only cow, whose milk had been their sole income, lay dead in
the field.

The younger angel was infuriated and asked the older angel how could
you have let this happen?
The first man had everything, yet you helped him, she accused.

The second family had little but was willing to share everything, and
you let the cow die..

"Things aren't always what they seem," the older angel replied.

"When we stayed in the basement of the mansion, I noticed there was
gold stored in that hole in the wall.

Since the owner was so obsessed with greed and unwilling to share his
good fortune, I sealed the wall so he wouldn't find it."

"Then last night as we slept in the farmers bed, the angel of death
came for his wife I gave him the cow instead.

Things aren't always what they seem."

Sometimes that is exactly what happens when things don't turn out
the way they should. If you have faith, you just need to trust that
every out come is always to your advantage. You just might not know it
until some time later...

A beautiful story

A WONDERFUL STORY
A woman came out of her house and saw 3 old men with long white beards sitting in her front yard. She did
not recognize them. She said "I don't think I know you, but you must be hungry. Please come in and have
something to eat."
"Is the man of the house home?", they asked. "No", she replied. "He's out."
"Then we cannot come in", they replied.
In the evening when her husband came home, she told him what had happened.
"Go tell them I am home and invite them in!"
The woman went out and invited the men in"
"We do not go into a House together," they replied. "Why is that?" she asked.
One of the old men explained: "His name is Wealth," he said pointing to one of his friends, and said pointing
to another one, "He is Success, and I am Love." Then he added, "Now go in and discuss with your husband
which one of us you want in your home."
The woman went in and told her husband what was said. Her husband was overjoyed. "How nice!!", he said.
"Since that is the case, let us invite Wealth. Let him come and fill our home with wealth!"
His wife disagreed. "My dear, why don't we invite Success?"
Their daughter-in-law was listening from the other corner of the house. She jumped in with her own
suggestion: "Would it not be better to invite Love? Our home will then be filled with love!"
"Let us heed our daughter-in-law's advice," said the husband to his wife.
"Go out and invite Love to be our guest."
The woman went out and asked the 3 old men, "Which one of you is Love?
Please come in and be our guest."
Love got up and started walking toward the house. The other 2 also got up and followed him. Surprised, the
lady asked Wealth and Success: "I only invited Love, Why are you coming in?"
The old men replied together: "If you had invited Wealth or Success, the other two of us would've stayed out,
but since you invited Love, wherever He goes, we go with him. Wherever there is Love, there is also Wealth
and Success!!!!!!"

MY WISH FOR YOU...
Where there is pain, I wish you peace and mercy.
Where there is self-doubting, I wish you a renewed confidence in your ability to work through it.
Where there is tiredness, or exhaustion, I wish you understanding, patience, and renewed strength.
Where there is fear, I wish you love, and courage.

A Song in my Heart

There fell a silvery-silken veil of light,
With quietude, and sultriness, and slumber,
Upon the upturned faces of a thousand
Roses that grew in an enchanted garden...

Such Sweetness

I know most love red roses
but Pink are one of my favorites
We had them at our wedding reception for our Valentine's day themed wedding
17 years ago.
I love pink roses and white ones too.
They are from my husband for Valentine's day.
Each day shared in our love is an absolute gift from God.

Sent to me by my dear friend Chip(God's wife)
Thank you so very much

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. ~Leo Buscaglia

God's Wife

Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once
Talked about a contest he was asked to judge.
The purpose of the
Contest was to find the most caring child.

The winner was:

A four-year-old child, whose next door
neighbor was an elderly gentleman, who had recently lost his
wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old
Gentleman's' yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there.
When his mother asked him what he had
said to the neighbor, the little boy just said, 'Nothing, I just
Helped him cry.'

*********************************************

Teacher Debbie Moon's first graders were
discussing a picture of a family. One little boy in the picture
had a different hair color than the other members.. One of her
students suggested that he was adopted.
A little girl said, 'I know all about
Adoption, I was adopted..'

'What does it mean to be adopted?', asked
another child.

'It means', said the girl, 'that you grew
in your mommy's heart instead of her tummy!'

*********************************************

On my way home one day, I stopped to
watch a Little League baseball game that was being played in a
park near my home. As I sat down behind the bench on the first-
base line, I asked one of the boys what the score was
'We're behind 14 to nothing,' he answered
With a smile.

'Really,' I said... 'I have to say you
don't look very discouraged.'

'Discouraged?', the boy asked with a
Puzzled look on his face....

'Why should we be discouraged? We haven't
Been up to bat yet.'

*********************************************

Whenever I'm disappointed with my spot
in life, I stop and think about little Jamie Scott.

Jamie was trying out for a part in the
school play. His mother told me that he'd set his heart on being
in it, though she feared he would not be chosen.

On the day the parts were awarded, I went
with her to collect him after school. Jamie rushed up to her,
eyes shining with pride and excitement.. 'Guess what, Mom,' he
shouted, and then said those words that will remain a lesson to
me....'I've been chosen to clap and cheer.'

*********************************************

An eye witness account from New York
City , on a cold day in December,
some years ago: A little boy,
about 10-years-old, was standing before a shoe store on the
roadway, barefooted, peering through the window, and shivering
With cold.

A lady approached the young boy and said,
'My, but you're in such deep thought staring in that window!'

'I was asking God to give me a pair of
shoes,'was the boy's reply.

The lady took him by the hand, went into
the store, and asked the clerk to get half a dozen pairs of socks
for the boy. She then asked if he could give her a basin of water
and a towel. He quickly brought them to her.

She took the little fellow to the back
part of the store and, removing her gloves, knelt down, washed
his little feet, and dried them with the towel.

By this time, the clerk had returned with
the socks.. Placing a pair upon the boy's feet, she purchased him
a pair of shoes..

She tied up the remaining pairs of socks
and gave them to him.. She patted him on the head and said, 'No
doubt, you will be more comfortable now.'

As she turned to go, the astonished kid
caught her by the hand, and looking up into her face, with tears
in his eyes, asked her.

'Are you God's wife?'

The History of Valentine's Day

"Every February, across the country, candy, flowers, and gifts are exchanged between loved ones, all in the name of St. Valentine. But who is this mysterious saint and why do we celebrate this holiday?" The History Channel has put together this web site to help with your questions about this celebration that 'contains vestiges of both Christian and ancient Roman tradition.' In addition to the history, you'll find Valentine trivia collected from the U. S. Census Bureau and pages on some of the popular romantics, Bess and Harry Truman, Elizabeth and Robert Browning and Rachel and Jackie Robinson. Here's a fun way to get the facts behind the day!

BTW, Esther Howland is the woman credited with producing 'the first commercial American valentines in the 1840s, [and] sold a then mind-boggling $5,000 in cards during her first year of business.' Commercialization was the part of the celebration even in the nineteenth century!

You will live on forever in our hearts

‎'Remember that when you leave this earth, you can take nothing that you have received...…but only what you have given' ~ Saint Francis of Assisi

You will lose someone you can’t live without,
and your heart will be badly broken,
and the bad news is that you never completely get over the loss of your beloved.
But this is also the good news. They live forever in your broken heart that doesn’t seal back up. And you come through. It’s like having a broken leg that never heals perfectly—that still hurts when the weather gets cold, but you learn to dance with the limp."

Happy Sunday

Gabriel Garcia Marquez withdrew himself from public life for health reasons: lymphatic cancer.
Now, it appears, that he is more serious each time.

He sent a letter of good-bye to his friends, and thanks to Internet this letter is being diffused.

It is truly moving this short text written by one of the most brilliant Latin-American writers of his time.

If God forgot for a moment that I am a puppet and would give me a little more time, I would benefit from this time the maximum I could.

I would probably not say all that I think, but ultimately I would think all that I say.

I would give value to the things, not for their value, but for what they mean.

I would sleep little, I would dream more, I understand that by each minute that we close our eyes, we lose sixty seconds of light.

I would walk when others would stop, I would be wake when the others sleep.

If God offered a little more life to me, I would get dressed simple, I would throw myself below the sun, while leaving discovered, not only my body, but also my heart.

To men I would prove how much misled they are by thinking they cease falling in love when they will age, without knowknowing they age when they cease falling in love.

To a child I would give wings, but I would leave it all alone learning how to fly.

Old men I would teach that death does not arrive with old age, but with forgetting.

So many things I have learned from you, humans, I’ve learned that everyone wants to live on the top of the mountain, without knowing that true happiness is in the way of going up the hillside.

I have learned that when a recently born tightens with its small hand, for the first time, the finger of his/her father, he will get caught for always.

I have learned that a man has only the right to look at another from above top, to help him to get up.

So many things those which I could have learnd from you, but they will not really be of much use, because when they keep me in this bag, unfortunately I will die.

Always say what you feel and do what you think.

If I knew today is the last time that I see you sleeping, I would strongly kiss you and I would request from the Lord to be able to be the guard of your heart.

If I knew that those are the last minutes that I see you, I would say to you I love you and would assume not, stupidly, that you know already.

There is always a tomorrow and life gives us another opportunity to make things well, but if I am mistaken and today is all that remains, I would like to say to you how much I love you, and that I will never forget you.

Future is not ensured to anybody, old or young, It can today be the last time that you see those whoyou love. That is why do not wait any more, do it today, since the tomorrow will never arrive, you surely will regret the day that you have not taken time for a smile, an embrace, a kiss and that you were very occupied to grant a last desire to them.

Keep those you love close to you, tell them to the ear how much you need them, love them and treat them good, take time to tell them, sorry, forgive me, please, thank you and all the words of love which you know.

Nobody will remember you by your secret thoughts. Ask the Lord for force and wisdom to articulate them.

Time Changes Things *Giggles*

Time changes things... read this one:

A group of 15-year-old girlfriends discussed where to meet for dinner. Finally, they agreed to meet at the Dairy Queen next to the Ocean View restaurant because they had only $6.00 among
them and Jimmy Johnson, the cute boy in Social Studies, lived on that street.

10 years later, the group of 25-year-old girlfriends discussed where to meet for dinner. Finally, they agreed to meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the beer was cheap, the restaurant offered free snacks, the band was good, there was no cover and there were lots of cute guys.

10 years later, the group of 35-year-old girlfriends discussed where to meet for dinner. Finally, they agreed to meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the cosmos were good, it was
right near the gym and, if they went late enough, there wouldn't be too many whiny little kids.

10 years later, the group of 45-year-old girlfriends discussed where to meet for dinner. Finally, they agreed to meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the martinis were big and the waiters had tight pants and nice buns.

10 years later, the group of 55-year-old girlfriends discussed where to meet for dinner. Finally, they agreed to meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the prices were reasonable, the wine list was good, the restaurant had windows that opened (in case of a hot flashes), and fish is good for cholesterol.

10 years later, the group of 65-year-old girlfriends discussed where to meet for dinner Finally, they agreed to meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the lighting was good and the restaurant had an early bird special.

10 years later, the group of 75-years-old girlfriends discussed where to meet for dinner. Finally, they agreed to meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the food was not too spicy and the restaurant was handicapped-accessible.

10 years later, the group of 85-years-old girlfriends discussed where to meet for dinner. Finally, they agreed to meet at the Ocean View restaurant because none of them had ever been there before.

Happy Chinese New Year the Year of the Rabbit

Happy Chinese New Year the Year of the Rabbit

One of my favorite stories

VELVETEEN RABBIT
by Margery Williams

(this starts at the point when the Skin Horse and the Rabbit are talking)

The Skin Horse had lived longer in the nursery than any of the others. He was so old and most of the hairs in his tail had been pulled out to string bead necklaces. For nursery magic is very strange and wonderful, and only those playthings that are old and wise and experienced like the Skin Horse understand all about it.

"What is REAL?" asked the Rabbit one day, when they were lying side by side near the nursery fender, before Nana came to tidy the room. "Does it mean having things that buzz inside you and a stick-out handle?"

"Real isn't how you are made," said the Skin Horse. "It's a thing that happens to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real."

"Does it hurt?" asked the Rabbit.

"Sometimes," said the Skin Horse, for he was always truthful. "When you are Real you don't mind being hurt."

"Does it happen all at once, like being wound up," he asked, "or bit by bit?"

"It doesn't happen all at once," said the Skin Horse. "You become. It takes a long time. That's why it doesn't happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in your joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand."

"I suppose you are real?" said the Rabbit. And then he wished he had not said it, for he thought the Skin Horse might be sensitive. But the Skin Horse only smiled.

"The Boy's Uncle made me Real," he said. "That was a great many years ago; but once you are Real you can't become unreal again. It lasts for always."

The Rabbit sighed. He thought it would be a long time before this magic called Real happened to him. He longed to become Real, to know what it felt like; and yet the idea of growing shabby and losing his eyes and whiskers was rather sad. He wished that he could become it without these uncomfortable things happening to him.

Waiting for Spring

Waiting so patiently for Spring

Photographs you may like to view

We tend to forget that happiness doesn't come
as a result of getting something we don't have but rather
of recognizing and appreciating what we do have"
Frederick Keonig

Thanks Anna for this quote on your blog

The Sun God

The gray dawn reddens, and the freshening wind
Marshals the clouds across the mountain spires.
A light flames skyward where the mist has thinned
Like lifting smoke above old altar fires.

The canon pines' low murmur, and the hush
Of shifting sands amid dry desert grass,
The far-off chanting of the hermit trfrush,
The splash of waters in the rock-strewn pass.

Then the sun's rim above the kneeling hills,
The mounting splendor and melting blue;
The radiant whiteness of the desert fills
With glistening folds the far, notched mount in view.
And gloriously the golden presence thrills
The waiting earth to ecstasy anew.

Rabbit Rabbit in the year of the Rabbit

My cousins beautiful child.
What a sweet sweet blessing children are.

Rabbit Rabbit in the year of the Rabbit

We are expecting quite a blizzard here tonight on this First Day of February.

I will be so glad to welcome Spring and all of her beauty

China tea, the scent of hyacinths, wood fires and bowls of violets that is my mental picture of an agreeable February afternoon.

February arrives cold wet and gray and her gifts disguised for only the most discerning spirits to see. Gentle in our path. Gratitude is the thread we weave into the fabric of our daily lives this month, giving thanks for our simply abuandant lives and asking for the fit of one more thing:
