We had so much fun yesterday

A lovely Anne of Green Gables Journal sent to me by my dear friend
Wendy and collectors stamps
100 Years of Anne

I love this song and video
The night was clear and frosty,
all ebony of shadow and silver of snowy slope;
big stars were shining over the silent fields; here and
there the dark pointed firs stood up with
snow powdering their branches and the wind whistling through them.

We are truly blessed with fabulous people in our laws.
We believe in the law of attraction
only surrounding ourselves with the very best~

Some are destined to draw a circle around themselves and draw in those very close in area

and others are chosen to draw a very very very very large circle
and draw in many.
They are deemed for greatness.

My dear friend Nonnie posted her photographs all in orange for a photograph challenge.
I decided to share mine with orange colours as well mostly taken by my son and one photograph
taken by me.

Weekend Weekend Cha Cha Cha

Are you ready to sing and dance and be Merry?

'If I had my life over'
By Belinda Emmett
(written after she found out she was dying from cancer)
I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the Earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren't there for a day...
I would have burned the pink candle sculpted into a rose before it melted in storage...
I would have talked less and listened more...
I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained or the sofa faded...
I would have eaten popcorn in the 'good' living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace...
I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth...
I would have shared more of the responsibility carried by my husband...
I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed...
I would have sat on the lawn with my grass stains...
I would have cried and laughed less while watching television and more while watching life...
I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn't show soil or was guaranteed to last a lifetime...

Hello Lovers~
I loved the Love Poem Carrie Read
to Big
Immortal Beloved
We are all born with a great need to be loved
and never ever outgrow it~
Love is all you need
Though still in bed, my thoughts go out to you, my Immortal Beloved, now and then joyfully, then sadly, waiting to learn whether or not fate will hear us - I can live only wholly with you or not at all - Yes, I am resolved to wander so long away from you until I can fly to your arms and say that I am really at home with you, and can send my soul enwrapped in you into the land of spirits - Yes, unhappily it must be so - You will be the more contained since you know my fidelity to you. No one else can ever possess my heart - never - never - Oh God, why must one be parted from one whom one so loves. And yet my life in V is now a wretched life - Your love makes me at once the happiest and the unhappiest of men - At my age I need a steady, quiet life - can that be so in our connection? My angel, I have just been told that the mail coach goes every day - therefore I must close at once so that you may receive the letter at once - Be calm, only by a calm consideration of our existence can we achieve our purpose to live together - Be calm - love me - today - yesterday - what tearful longings for you - you - you - my life - my all - farewell. Oh continue to love me - never misjudge the most faithful heart of your beloved.
ever thine
ever mine
ever ours

A Princess in our World

Babies are such a wonderful way to start people

Princess K as I call her is such a joy to us all especially her family.
Her precious Mother is a very very sweet and dear friend.
I treasure every moment shared with them both.
Everyday we get emails what is Princess K wearing.
I smile and am full of radiance with every thought of their family.
Precious miracles are babies
Bits of stardust hand blown from God's own hands.

To be a Child:

To be a child is to see dragons in summer clouds,
hear music in a crickets hum, feel velvet on a caterpillars back
and believe that pumpkins really do turn into coaches.

Blessings most beautiful child and her family~
Love you all dearly~

Family Faces from North Carolina

My cousin Susan In North Carolina

I received a lovely package of delight yesterday from my cousin Susan in North Carolina and she enclosed some
lovely photographs which I am always happy to receive.
Here is Michelle on the left (my half Sister) my cousin Susan and another relative
Sandra on the right while they had lunch.................

How wonderful to see everyone.............
One day I hope we can all meet.

Yesterday I had lunch with a dear and fine friend
and she gave me a bag of lovely gifts.
I will share this most gorgeous verse from a beautiful book she gave me called Heartprints

Heartprints
Whatever our hands touch
We leave fingerprints~
On the walls, on the furniture
On doorknobs, dishes books,
As we touch we leave our identity.

O God, wherever I go today
Help me to leave heartprints!
Heartprints of compassions.
Of understanding and love.
Heartprints of kindness and genuine concern.

May my heart touch a lonely neighbor,
Or a runaway daughter,
Or an anxious mother,
Or perhaps, a dear friend!

Lord, send me out today
To leave heartprints
And if someone should say
"I felt your touch,"
May that one sense your love
Touching through me.
~Author Unknown

Thank you Connie and everyone that touches my life with their heartprints.
I am a truly blessed woman~

God loves it when we sing and dance and are full of joy
I love this photograph on Flickr.
In the bucket list it was said when we get to Heaven God will ask us two questions:
1. did you find joy in your life
2. did you bring joy to others in your life

How would you answer these questions?
Life is short.
Eternity is forever

I love music and Inspiration

Make A Pearl
By Harry Emerson Fosdick

Most of us can afford to take a lesson from the oyster.

The most extraordinary thing about the oyster is this.
Irritations get into his shell. He does not like them; he tries to get rid of them.

But when he cannot get rid of them he settles down to make of them one of the most beautiful things in the world. He uses the irritation to do the loveliest thing that an oyster ever has a chance to do.

If there are irritations in our lives today, there is only one prescription: make a pearl. It may have to be a pearl of patience, but, anyhow, make a pearl. And it takes faith and love to do it.

“Music speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it rest, heals the heart and makes it whole, flows from heaven to the soul.”

Tell me what you are listening to these days...............

Blessings and much love

My Little Dragonfly ......fly away and be well

This morning I put him on the porch
He stayed for a very very very long time as if to bid farewell.
I gently helped him fly away as I was afraid the paper boy would step
on him as he delivers our morning papers very soon.

One of God's little creations needed rescuing......
The poor little dragonfly got caught in a barrel of water from all the rain.........on the weekend.......

I brought him/her in and dried him off gently and kept him warm under the lights all night
and on a clean white napkin
Viola this morning I set him free he is resting on our front porch.............
Fly away and be well my new little friend...........

If I can stop one heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain;
If I can ease one life the aching,
Or cool one pain,
Or help one fainting robin
Unto his nest again,
I shall not live in vain.
~Emily Dickinson

I am off to do mall walking with my friends soon and embrace this day with love and very very thankful heart.
My darling niece Michelle is on her way to Turkey she will try and bring me back a most sacred rosary (I collect them from all around the world as I do all items of prayer)
From Michelle:
I will try to find a nice one if we make it to Ephesus which is said to be the final resting place of the Virgin Mary. There is a church there built in her honour.

When I find myself in times of trouble
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom Let It Be Let It Be

Written by Paul McCartney and everyone thought it was for the virgin Mother Mary
he said that could be as well but he actually had his dear late Mother Mary in mind when
he wrote the words.
My Grandmother's name is Mary my beloved late Mom's middle name was Mary
and I have a dear Aunt Mary and a dear friend Mary.
All are very special to me as is the Virgin Mother Mary~

Ode to June Brides and to Love Sweet Love

Thank you fabulous flickr friends,

I love brides and love and You~

Where There Is Love

Where there is love the heart is light,
Where there is love the day is bright,
Where there is love there is a song
To help when things are going wrong,
Where there is love there is a smile
To make all things seem more worthwhile,
Where there is love there's quiet peace,
A tranquil place where turmoils cease...
Love changes darkness into light
And makes the heart take "wingless flight"
Oh, blessed are they who walk in love
They also walk with God above,
And when man walk with God again

There shall be peace on

Earth for men

Summer's Embrace:

The scent of roses
The shadow of the moon
Oh how glorious the month of June
The first day of summer
Salute to grads and Dad's and brides
All of us are smiling wide!~

Barbecued dinners
served upon the deck with windchimes softly heard
They play a melody so sweet
and yes I embrace that casual feeling
It can wait until tomorrow.
The pace is divine.

On a pale moonlit night
We are serenaded by a crickets orchestra
We define our destiny under the stars
I bid you hello sweet summer
And if God is willing I will welcome you again
Next year at this time.

The Butterfly and the Flower

The Butterfly and the Flower

Once there was a man who asked God for a flower.... ....and a butterfly.

But instead God gave him a cactus.... ....and a caterpillar.

The man was sad, he didn’t understand why his request was mistaken

Then he thought:

Oh well, God has too many people to care for... and decided not to question.

After some time, the man went to check up on his request that he had left forgotten

To his surprise, from the thorny & ugly cactus a beautiful flower had grown

And the unsightly carterpillar had been transformed into the most beautiful butterfly.

GOD always does things right!

His way is ALWAYS the best way, even if to us it seems all wrong.

If you asked God for one thing & received another, TRUST.

You can be sure that He will always give you what you need at the appropriate time.

What you want.......is not always what you need!

God never fails to grant our petitions, so keep on going for Him without doubting or murmuring.

Today’s THORN...

Is tomorrow’s FLOWER!

GOD GIVES THE VERY BEST TO THOSE WHO LEAVE THE CHOICES UP TO HIM!

Can you say Ooooh La La

My dear long time friends daughter
On the right in the turquoise top is in France
this summer and they are enjoying themselves so very much.
She is enchanted to say the least.
Can you say Ooooooh La La~
Our children lead enchanted and charming lives to say the very least.
We are so very proud of them all.

I love this place and all the fabulous places in Olde Walkerville, Windsor Ontario has so much to offer

An Article from the Windsor Star earlier this year:

Gourmet Emporium classy and ambitious

Ted Whipp, Windsor Star

Published: Wednesday, April 16, 2008

The Gourmet Emporium in Walkerville lives up to its name, with food at the centre of a business part specialty food store, licensed cafe, with movies on the side Sunday nights.

Newcomers may not know which way to turn stepping into the wide-open, attractive space in the former Bank of Montreal building that dates back to 1913, at 1799 Wyandotte St. E. at Chilver.

The menu offers wide selection, with flavourful salads, sandwiches on panini or focaccia breads, seven-inch personal pizzas, coffees, Fair Trade teas, as well as specialty coffees, beers and wines.

Menu items are under $10, with wines by the glass about $6.50, martinis from $7 to $8.50, beers about $5.

Open since November, with food service since February, the emporium continues to add improvements, including work to finish a secluded seating area on the upstairs mezzanine level.

Free wireless Internet access is available in the contemporary, stylish space with its tan and blue walls and white ceiling.

The movies play on two plasma TVs and a big screen high on the wall along Wyandotte, starting at 8 p.m. and with the comedy Juno showing this Sunday.

The idea to boost Sunday business is working, with people dropping by and trying out the menu, says Sean Bellemore, managing partner with husband and wife Dr. B.J. Jhawar and Chantal Jhawar.

The partners and Will Cochran in the kitchen continue to make adjustments, here and there and on the menu.

Look for an outdoor patio in coming weeks with seating on Wyandotte and Chilver.

Even more special events are on the way.

That may include cooking classes and wine tastings, besides the two-for-one appetizer tapas special underway Monday through Wednesday this month, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Bottom line: Food fun is playing in Walkerville.

The Gourmet Emporium, 1799 Wyandotte St. E. at Chilver, is open Monday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 a.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.; telephone 519-915-0813.

Gratitude

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life.
It turns what we have into enough and more.
It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity.
It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.
Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today,
and creates a vision for tomorrow.
~Melody Beattie

Peace

I love inspiration and write beautiful ones in my journal and read inspirational quotes every chance I get...............

I wanted to share this email from my dear friend Shelley~

One day I had a date for lunch with friends. Mae, a little old "blue hair" lady about 80 years old, came along with them---all in all, a pleasant bunch. When the menus were presented, we ordered salads, sandwiches, and soups, except for Mae who said,
"Ice Cream, please. Two scoops, chocolate."
I wasn't sure my ears heard right, and the others were aghast. "Along with heated apple pie," Mae added, completely unabashed. We tried to act quite nonchalant, as if people did this all the time. But when our orders were brought out, I didn't enjoy mine. I couldn't take my eyes off Mae as her pie a-la-mode went down. The other ladies showed dismay. They ate their lunches silently & frowned.
The next time I went out to eat, I called and invited Mae. I lunched on white meat tuna. She ordered a parfait. I smiled. She asked if she amused me. I answered, "Yes, you do, but also you confuse me. How come you order rich desserts, while I feel I must be sensible?"

She laughed and said, with wanton mirth, "I'm tasting all that's possible.
I try to eat the food I need, & do the things I should. But life's so short, my friend, I hate missing out on something good. This year I realized how really old I am. (She grinned) I haven't been this old before. So before I die, I've got to try those things that for years I had ignored. I haven't smelled all the flowers yet. There are too many books I haven't read, many more fudge sundaes to wolf down & kites to be flown overhead. There are many malls I haven't shopped. I've not laughed at all the jokes. I've missed a lot of Broadway hits & potato chips & Cokes. I want to wade again in water & feel ocean spray on my face. I want to sit in a country church once more & thank God for His grace. I want peanut butter every day spread on my morning toast. I want un-timed long distance calls to the folks I love the most. I haven't cried at all the sad movies yet, or walked enough in the morning rain. I need to feel wind in my hair. I want to fall in love again. So, if I choose to have dessert, instead of having dinner, then should I die before nightfall, I'd say I died a winner, because I missed out on nothing. I filled my heart's desire & I had that final chocolate mousse before my life expired."

With that, I called the waitress over.. "I've changed my mind," I said. "I want what she is having, only add more whipped cream!"

Live well, love much & laugh often - Be happy. Be mindful that happiness isn't based on possessions, power, or prestige, but on relationships with people we love and respect. Remember that while money talks...C
HOCOLATE SINGS!

One

I love this
I love this song always have~

From a beautiful greeting card

Seeds of hope rays of sunshine may peace happiness joy and love touch your hearts always

One song can spark a moment,
One flower can wake the dream.
One tree can start a forest,
One bird can herald spring.
One smile begins a friendship,
One handclasp lifts a soul.
One star can guide a ship at sea,
One word can frame the goal.

One vote can change a nation,
One sunbeam lights a room.
One candle wipes out darkness,
One laugh will conquer gloom.
One step must start each journey,
One word must start each prayer.
One hope will raise our spirits,
One touch can show you care.
One voice can speak with wisdom,
One heart can know what's true.
One life can make the difference
IT'S UP TO the one, you!

Stars and heaven:

A little girl was camping with her dad one evening and got to see a
sight city-folk rarely get to witness. As the sky got pitch black, the
stars were absolutely brilliant. The little girl looked up and said,
"Daddy, if the bottom side of heaven looks this beautiful, what must
the other side look like!"

...must be brilliant and perfect!
Author of this piece unknown to me.
For my dear friend Connie
Big hugs and prayers for you and your family~
I am so very sorry on the loss of your Father~
Love you

Thank you Stars

Every Day ...
Share a kind word with a friend.
Give away a smile.
Tell one secret.
Listen to what someone has to say.
Listen with your heart,
to what someone cannot say.
Try one new thing.
Forgive one person who has hurt you.
Forgive yourself for past mistakes.
Realize your imperfections.
Discover your possibilities.
Make a new friend.
Accept responsibility for everything you do.
Refuse responsibility for anyone else's actions.

Life is a mixture of sunshine and rain,
Laughter and pleasure, teardrops and rain.

All days can't be bright but it's certainly true,
There was never a cloud the sun didn't shine through.

And you'll find when you smile your day will be brighter
And all your burdens will seem so much lighter.

For each time you smile you will find it's true
Somebody, somewhere, will smile back at you.

And nothing on earth can make life more worthwhile
Than the sunshine and warmth of a beautiful smile!

Living by the lake we get loads of them
The season may be short lived
but oh my I am glad when June bug season is over

Many are still without power in Michigan
including my dear cousin Wendy
I am praying they get their power back on and all is restored to normal.
Floods in the mid west and tornados
and severe drought on the west coast.................
Praying for all those in need~

Life Sweet Life

Our front door with fresh pink peonies from our garden
to accent our arrival for anyone that comes to our home.
We have one request enter with love and a happy heart full of peace and joy~

When you give your heart to life, it is not lost,
for a thousand hearts come back to you.
Each contains a bit of your own.
Love to you all.
embrace your bliss
find your joy~

Me with two dear friends Bev, beside me, and Elaine to the right.......,
two very dear and long time loving friends,
working a function when we were all employed for the Development Commisson of Windsor, Ontario.
Now we are all the Captains of our own ships and
happy doing just that.

The Company we keep:

Because love requires courage, so many people choose to remain safely locked within themselves.
But those who move beyond reticence and fear quickly learn that there is no security in isolation, that our
lives unfold and gather strength with the company we keep.
~Robert Sexton

Life is a continuous process of living and learning and longing and losing with loving
and laughing and filling in the gaps in between.

We watched the movie "The Bucket List" and enjoyed it
I loved this quote from the movie
Ancient Egyptians believed at the end of your life when you reached the God's
they asked you two questions to determine your destination for eternal life:
1. Did you find joy in your life
2. Did you bring joy in the lives of others?

Lesson in Perserverance

Love is the strongest force in the Universe.

Photograph I took in British Columbia
of a Photograph I loved

Sending out love today for all those that need healing in any way.
My love and prayers~
Iit is a very very very tough complicated world we live in and many
are facing enormous challenges of all varied sorts.
And many are facing heartbreak and sorrow.
I send my love and prayers

Sending the love~

Lesson in Perserverance
Have you ever watched birds
when they have to face adverse circumstances?
They spend day after day weaving their nests,
collecting building materials,
sometimes brought from distant places…
and when it is almost ready
and they are prepared to lay eggs,
actions of the weather,
human beings or other animals
destroy the nest which
was built with so much care, effort and love.

What does the bird do? Stops and gives up?

Not at all! Starts over and over again,
until the first eggs are laid in the nest.

Many times, just before chicks are born,
an animal, a child,
a storm once again destroys the nest,
but now with its precious contents.

It hurts starting from zero...
But in spite of it all,
the bird never hushes or gives up,
carries on singing and building, building and singing.

Have you ever felt that your life,
your work, your family, your friends, are not what you were dreaming of?
Do you feel like saying:
“That’s enough, it is not worth the effort,
this is too much for me?”

Are you tired of starting over and
over again the struggle of everyday life,
the betrayed trust, the failed dreams,
the broken promises, the unmet goals,
when you were almost getting there?

Even if life hurts you again and again,
do not give up!
Pray and put your hopes in front of you and go forward!
Do not worry if you get scarred in this process,
it is something you can expect.

Collect all the bits and pieces of your broken hopes and dreams, put them together, and go forward again.
It does not matter how many obstacles you have to overcome. Do not lose courage.
Trust God and keep on going in faith.
Life is a constant challenge, but it is worth to accept it…
And above all… Like the birds…
Keep on singing!

The Sneeze

THE SNEEZE

They walked in tandem, each of the ninety-two
students filing into the already crowded auditorium.
With their rich maroon gowns flowing .. and the
traditional caps, they looked almost ... as grown up
as they felt.

Dads swallowed hard behind broad smiles, and Moms
freely brushed away tears.

This class would NOT pray during the
commencements----not by choice, but because of a
recent court ruling prohibiting it.

The principal and several students were careful to
stay within the guidelines allowed by the ruling. They
gave inspirational and challenging speeches, but no
one mentioned divine guidance and no one asked for
blessings on the graduates or their families.
The speeches were nice, but they were
routine.....until the final speech received a standing
ovation.

A solitary student walked proudly to the
microphone. He stood still and silent for just a
moment, and then, it happened.

All 92 students, every single one of them, suddenly
SNEEZED!!!!

The student on stage simply looked at the audience
and said, 'GOD BLESS YOU , each and every one of you!'
And he walked off stage...

The audience exploded into applause. This
graduating class had found a unique way to invoke
God's blessing on their future with or without the
court's approval.

Isn't this a wonderful story? GOD BLESS YOU!!!!

This is a true story; it happened at the University
of Maryland .

Life isn't about how to survive the storm,
but how to dance in the rain!

How enriched are they and truly blessed~

Meaning of Life website

Morality as taught by way of rules is extremely powerful and valuable in the development of practice. It must be remembered first that it, like all the techniques in meditation, is merely a tool to enable one to eventually get to that place of unselfishness where morality and wisdom flow naturally. In the West, there's a myth that freedom means free expression - that to follow all desires wherever they take one is true freedom. In fact, as one observes the mind, one sees that following desires, attractions, repulsions is not at all freedom, but is a kind of bondage. A mind filled with desires and grasping inevitably entails great suffering. Freedom is not to be gained through the ability to perform certain external actions. True freedom is an inward state of being. Once it is attained, no situation in the world can bind one or limit one's freedom. It is in this context that we must understand moral precepts and moral rules.

"Since you get more joy out of giving joy to others, you should put a good deal of thought into the happiness that you are able to give."

- Eleanor Roosevelt

When you change the way you look at things,
the things you look at change.

Wishing everyone fabulous June days
and blessings from above

Many special June birthdays~
Blessings and much love to
each and everyone~

Have a great weekend~
And everyone celebrating June
birthdays have a great one~

Things that added sparkles
to my days yesterday.

The fabulous food at Mazaar and the gorgeous friend
I shared it with
The wedding party I seen on my way to lunch.

The lady at the fountain
when I tossed pennies in to make
my special wishes

and her kindness.
She wanted to give me coins for her to make

wishes and I put coins
in for her and made special wishes for her........

The fabulous massage from my wonderful
cousin Kerrie and her care for me.

The thoughts of everyone I love and adore.
You know who you are.
The thought of having a glorious weekend
and

The thoughts of my son coming home
for a visit in September

has my heart soaring~
All sparkles that shine more bright than any jewel.
All the gifts from God in my life~

We all need someone to love us and
believe in us.
Make this world a kind loving place.

Love and hate are both 4 letter words.
Which one are you spreading?

Off to sprinkle my lovely plants
with our lavender garden hose.
It is going to be very hot today~

Can you say perfect day?

Posting my beautiful friend Dani's Angel once again she is too beautiful not to share..........
Dani's talent and site is amazing and so is she~
Love you
May Angels bless you
May Angels protect you~

My darling friend Dani
I love you~

I love all thing sacred and of prayer

My hairdresser is off to Greece for the first time
her and 3 other young ladies off to enjoy this beautiful place.
She asked me what I may like I told her I love rosaries and anything sacred
of religious content
She said she will try and find me a special rosary.
I have many all around the house.

I love my prayer beads
All images from a google search

One thing I'd like to get is a prayer wheel...............

When I find myself in times of trouble Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom Let it Be Let it Be

When I pray for very serious issues, as I did many times
this winter, with so many in need of many prayers, for a myriad of reasons.
I pray to the Virgin Mother Mary in front of our church.
Our parish Priest told me one morning as I prayed there that when you pray
to the Mother Mary she sends an angel to the person you are praying for.
I feel in many cases this came true this winter.
When prayers go up blessings come down.

I always say this simple prayer each day among others

Thank you for the world so sweet
Thank you for the food we eat.
Thank you for the birds that sing
Thank you God for everything~

When your faith is active an working, you don't feel confused all the time.
When your faith is working you don't feel burdened or stressed
out and defeated, like you cannot make it.
Faith energizes you to know you can do whatever it is you need to do in life.
To build your faith stay in God's word and keep praising Him
for His goodness.

Family more precious than gold.
We are both extremely devoted to our families.........
She and her husband are most excellent parents.

as my hair cut today many wanted to see.........

I am so happy to be in touch with the remaining family on my Dad's side in North Carolina and my Uncle James and his family in Germany.

Many have long gone, but Michelle my half Sister, and cousin Susan and Uncle James are a glorious delight for me............I am slowly getting to know about my Dad and his family.

I will share some photographs sent to me by Michelle used with her permission of course.

Understanding is knowing what to do;
Wisdom is knowing what to do next;
Virtue is actually doing it. -- Tristan Gulberd

Angels bless you always

My darling friend Dani creates the most beautiful things.
Thank you Dani for letting me share this with everyone and I thank God for every remembrance of you
Your friendship is a golden treasure in my life.
I love you so very much~

May Angels protect you
May Troubles neglect you

On becoming real from a book I love
The Velveteen Rabbbit............
You become. It takes a long time.
That’s why it doesn’t happen often to people who break
easily or have sharp edges or who have to be easily kept.
Generally, by the time you are Real,
most of your hair has been loved off
and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and are very shabby.
But these things don’t matter at all, because
once you are Real you can’t be ugly except to people who don’t understand.
The Velveteen Rabbit

Go Detroit Red Wings

Rainbows ever present gifts from Mom I believe
yesterday on my morning walk you can see the rainbow

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood

Tonight in Pittsburgh
Go Detroit
Today is Drew's birthday and he loves the Wings like we do
For Drew the Stanley Cup~
WE will all be wishing and hoping
Happy Birthday Drew
We love you~~~~~

The Detroit skyline taken a few days ago while on my drive home.

We are hoping the Detroit Red Wings win the Stanley Cup tonight.
The city has been very very very hard hit economically.
What a nice boost for this city so sentimental to my heart.

Logical Song by Super Tramp

Some day, in years to come, you will be wrestling with the great
temptation, or trembling under the great sorrow of your life. But the
real struggle is here, now, in these quiet weeks. Now it is being
decided whether, in the day of your supreme sorrow or temptation, you
shall miserably fail or gloriously conquer. Character cannot be made
except by a steady, long continued process.

A blast from the Past

Photograph taken in our back yard.
My son on the left with our neighbors Michelle and Dana
Now Dana lives right behind me and has a daughter of her own.
The years zoom by so rapidly I cannot believe it~
Justin grew up in the nicest area, St. Clair Beach,
with the most
lovely of people to surround ourselves with.
Each one cherished~

If for Boys by Rudyard Kipling

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stood and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'

If you can walk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful,
we must carry it with us or we find it not.
~Ralph Waldo Emerson~

I love all the Music from Moulin Rouge and the Movie

I've learned
That the best classroom in the world is
at the feet of an elderly person.

I've learned
....
That when you're in love, it shows.

I've learned
....
That just one person saying to me,
"You've made my day!" makes my day.

I've learned
....
That having a child fall asleep in your
arms is one of the most peaceful feelings
in the world.

I've learned
....
That being kind is more important
than being right.

I've learned
....
That you should never say no to
a gift from a child.

I've learned
....
That I can always pray for someone
when I don't have the strength to help
him in some other way.

I've learned
....
That no matter how serious your life
requires you to be, everyone needs a
friend to act goofy with.

I've learned
....
That sometimes all a person needs is
a hand to hold and a heart to understand.

I've learned
....
That simple walks with my father around
the block on summer nights when I was
a child did wonders for me as an adult.

I've learned
....
That life is like a roll of toilet paper.
The closer it gets to the end, the
faster it goes.

I've learned
....
That we should be glad God doesn't
give us everything we ask for.

I've learned
....
That money doesn't buy class.

I've learned
....
That it's those small daily happenings
that make life so spectacular.

I've learned
...
That under everyone's hard shell is
someone who wants to be appreciated
and loved.

I've learned
....
That to ignore the facts does not
change the facts.

I 've learned
....
That when you plan to get even with
someone, you are only letting that person
continue to hurt you.

I've learned
....
That love, not time, heals all wounds.

I've learned
....
That the easiest way for me to grow
as a person is to surround myself with
people smarter than I am.

I've learned
....
That everyone you meet deserves to
be greeted with a smile.

I've learned
....
That no one is perfect until you fall
in love with them.

I've learned
....
That life is tough, but I'm tougher.

I've learned....
That opportunities are never lost;
someone will take the ones you miss.

I've learned....
That when you harbor bitterness,
happiness will dock elsewhere.

I've learned....
That I wish I could have told my Mom or
Dad that I love her/him one more time
before she passed away.

I've learned....
That one should keep his words both
soft and tender, because tomorrow
he may have to eat them.

I've learned....
That a smile is an inexpensive way to
improve your looks.

I've learned....
That when your newly born grandchild
holds your little finger in his little fist,
that you're hooked for life.

I've learned....
That everyone wants to live on top of the
mountain, but all the happiness and growth
occurs while you're climbing it.

A Special Drawing Made for Me

This very special drawing with given to me today with great love
by a very special person I make a point of always talking to
at Tim Horton's when I get steeped tea for me and my precious Grandmother.
She works at Tim Horton's and I taught her the peace sign and how
to say I love you in Greek, Hungarian, and Korean
in my own humble way of pronouncing each one.........
I wrote them out for her........
She is a gem and one of God's special angels.
Her smiles and eyes light up any room and my life each time
I encounter this lovely lady~

Giggles if you have the money for gas that is.
With gas prices reaching record high prices the long Sunday drives are a thing of the past.
All destinations are carefully chosen these days.

Many boats are up for sale this year too.
