Baby Raccoon comes to visit us

All photographs were taken by the lovely young lady next door as the baby raccoon came to visit us last night.
Thank you for the use of your photographs.

I love all the fur angels especially the young babies of Spring.
The young baby raccoon came to visit me and my neighbor last night.

Me and my precious Grandmother and my husband
on my wedding day

What my Mom wrote in my wedding card
My darling daughter
you radiate natural abilities and aristocratic elegance.
You have beauty, charm, wisdom and you never need to be invented.
You simply are the very best.

And they lived Happily Ever After

I love Brides...........
A mosaic I created in Flickr sometime back from the Use of fabulous
Flickr photographs and Flickr tools I thank you all so much~
WE all dream of our wedding day and our wedding dress at least I did.

Marry when the year is new,
Always loving, kind and true,
When February birds do mate,
You may wed, nor dread your fate,
If you wed when March winds blow
Joy and sorrow both you will know.
Marry in April when you cn.
Joy for maiden and for man.
Marry in the month of May.
You will surely rue the day.
Marry when June roses blow
Over land and sea you will go.
Those who in July do wed
Must labor always for their bread.
Whoever wed in August be,
Many a change are sure to see.
Marry in September's shine.
Your living will be rich and fine.
If in October you do marry,
Love will come but riches tarry.
If you wed in bleak November
Only joy will come, remember.
When December's snows falls fast.
Marry and true love will last.

If I laugh
Cat Stevens love his music..............

There was a baby raccoon in our front yard yesterday.
If the little fur angel returns I will run and get my camera.
How sweet is nature.
All of the goslings are walking confidently with their
Canada Geese parents.
We all stop to let them cross the road.
Where are they going on their adventures.
To find more food I suppose.
I take in every inch of Spring~
I love all of you
Have a glorious weekend~

A visit with my precious Grandmother

You put a song in my heart

Be thankful for What You've Got

Keep a green tree in your heart
and a singing bird will come
`Chinese Proverb

A little girl walked to and from school daily. Though the weather that
morning was questionable and clouds were forming, she made her daily trek
to the elementary school. As the afternoon progressed, the winds whipped up,
along with thunder and lightning.

The mother of the little girl felt concerned that her daughter would be
frightened as she walked home from school and she herself feared that the
electrical storm might harm her child. Following the roar of thunder,
lightning, like a flaming sword, would cut through the sky. Full of concern,
the mother quickly got into her car and drove along the route to her child's

school. As she did so, she saw her little girl walking along, but at each
flash of lightning, the child would stop, look up and smile. Another and
another were to follow quickly and with each the little girl would look at
the streak of light and smile.

When the mother's car drew up beside the child she lowered the window and
called to her, 'What are you doing? Why do you keep stopping?' The child
answered, 'I'm trying to look pretty. God keeps taking my picture.'

Precious Grandmother
a diamond in our lives
a jewel in our hearts~

This is how she was as I approached her on the visit........
She is so tiny now

Grandma loves the steeped tea from Tim Horton's
I bring her one every time I visit

She is so precious and dear~
So loved by us all~

Lots of photographs

and an ever present cross
and the pink silk scarve was sent to me by my dear friend Corey in France

She has gifts from all over the world thanks to all my lovely friends~
I thank each one of you for sharing my love for my precious Grandmother
and your big kind generous hearts in not only spoiling me but my precious
Grandma too~
We always make sure she has lots of greeting cards
I read everyone to her often
My Aunt Ruth does a very nice job of keeping so many things organized and up to date
and makes the hats and flower decorations around Grandma's room
We are lucky to have so many wonderful people in our lives
Especially Grandma~

Each visit becomes more precious to me.............

Ode to Happiness

This little bird Billie teaches me a lesson each time I visit him when I visit my precious Grandmother.
Here he lives not only in a nursing home but in a cage in a nursing home
and I visit him and he sings and dances for me so sweetly you would swear he is living in Paradise.
He convinces himself he IS happy in spite of it all.
How precious this little bird is to me.................
God bless all of God's fur angels and all those in nursing homes~

DADDY'S EMPTY CHAIR

A man's daughter had asked the local minister to come and pray with her father. When the minister arrived, he found the man lying in bed with his head propped up on two pillows. An empty chair sat beside his bed.
The minister assumed that the old fellow had been informed of his visit.
"I guess you were expecting me," he said.
"No, who are you?" said the father.
The minister told him his name and then remarked, "I saw the empty chair and I figured you knew I was going to show up."

Oh yeah, the chair," said the bedridden man, "Would you mind closing the door?"

Puzzled, the minister shut the door.
"I have never told anyone this, not even my daughter," said the man.

"But all of my life I have never known how to pray. At church I used to hear the pastor talk about prayer, but it went right over my head. I abandoned any attempt at prayer," the old man continued,
"until one day four years ago, my best friend said to me, "Johnny, prayer is just a simple matter of having a conversation with Jesus."

Here is what I suggest:

"Sit down in a chair; place an empty chair in front of you, and in faith see Jesus on the chair. It's not spooky because he promised, 'I will be with you always'. "Then just speak to him in the same way you're doing with me right now."
"So, I tried it and I've liked it so much that I do it a couple of hours every day. I'm careful though. If my daughter saw me talking to an empty chair, she'd either have a nervous breakdown or send me off to the funny farm."

The minister was deeply moved by the story and encouraged the old man to continue on the journey. Then he prayed with him, anointed him with oil, and returned to the church.

Two nights later the daughter called to tell the minister that her daddy had died that afternoon.
"Did he die in peace?" he asked.
"Yes, when I left the house about two o'clock, he called me over to his bedside, told me he loved me and kissed me on the cheek. When I got back from the store an hour later, I found him . But there was something strange about his death. Apparently, just before Daddy died, he leaned over and rested his head on the chair beside the bed. What do you make of that?"
The minister wiped a tear from his eye and said, "I wish we could all go like that."

Prayer is one of the best free gifts we receive.

I asked God for water, He gave me an ocean.*
I asked God for a flower, He gave me a garden.*
I asked God for a friend, He gave me YOU...
If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.

Happy moments, praise God.
Difficult moments, seek God.
Quiet moments, worship God
Painful moments, trust God.
Every moment, thank God.

This is a Brand New Day

I love Audrey Hephurn
Her collector stamps came out yesterday~

"I was asked to act when I couldn't act.
I was asked to sing 'Funny Face' when I couldn't sing,
and dance with Fred Astaire when I couldn't dance
- and do all kinds of things I wasn't prepared for.
Then I tried like mad to cope with it.”

Does anyone know the name of this plant.
I took a picture of it in our neighbors yard.
They are never home to ask what plant this is.
It almost looks like a type of lily of the valley or
bleeding heart.
Let me know if you know

I love the beautiful shades of blues in our back garden
I brought Lilacs and Lilies of the valley to my Mom's grave yesterday

Our dear family member Kenneth is back in the hospital again
after his bypass surgery.
I am saying special prayers for him and his family.
We love them all so very much~

An Angel says,

Never borrow from the future. If you worry about what may happen tomorrow and it doesn't happen, you have worried in vain. Even if it does happen, you have to worry twice.

1. Pray

2. Go to bed on time.

3. Get up on time so you can start the day unrushed.

4. Say No to projects that won't fit into your time schedule or that will compromise your mental health.

5. Delegate tasks to capable others.

6. Simplify and unclutter your life.

7. Less is more. (Although one is often not enough, two are often too many.)

8. Allow extra time to do things and to get to places.

9. Pace yourself. Spread out big changes and difficult projects over time; don't lump the hard things all together.

10. Take one day at a time.

11. Separate worries from concerns . If a situation is a concern, find out what God would have you do and let go of the anxiety . If you can't do anything about a situation, forget it.

12. Live within your budget; don't use credit cards for ordinary purchases.

13. Have backups; an extra car key in your wallet, an extra house key buried in the garden, extra stamps, etc

14. K.M.S. (Keep Mouth Shut). This single piece of advice can prevent an enormous amount of trouble.

15. Do something for the Kid in You everyday.

16. Carry a Bible with you to read while waiting in line.

17. Get enough rest.

18. Eat right.

19 Get organized so everything has its place.

20. Listen to a tape while driving that can help improve your quality of life.

21. Write down thoughts and inspirations.

22. Every day, find time to be alone.

23. Having problems? Talk to God on the spot. Try to nip small problems in the bud. Don't wait until it's time to go to bed to try and pray.

24. Make friends with Godly people.

25. Keep a folder of favorite scriptures on hand.

26. Remember that the shortest bridge between despair and hope is often a good 'Thank you Jesus ..'

27. Laugh.

28. Laugh some more!

29. Take your work seriously, but not yourself at all.

30. Develop a forgiving attitude (most people are doing the best they can).

31. Be kind to unkind people (they probably need it the most).

32. Sit on your ego.

33 Talk less; listen more.

34. Slow down.

35. Remind yourself that you are not the general manager of the universe.

36 Every night before bed, think of one thing you're grateful for that you've never been grateful for before. GOD HAS A WAY OF TURNING THINGS AROUND FOR YOU.

If God is for us, who can be against us?

(Romans 8:31)

Butterfly Season

This butterfly in our garden is solar powered and illuminates
all different colours throughout the night.
I often look down from our bedroom window and feel most enchanted~
Have butterflies been abundant all over your gardens?
They are gracing ours with their beauty.
I love butterflies.

What the cocoon calls the end of the world
God calls a Butterfly

The Butterfly and the Flower

The Butterfly and the Flower

Once there was a man who asked God for a flower.... ....and a butterfly.

But instead God gave him a cactus.... ....and a caterpillar.

The man was sad, he didn’t understand why his request was mistaken

Then he thought:

Oh well, God has too many people to care for... and decided not to question.

After some time, the man went to check up on his request that he had left forgotten

To his surprise, from the thorny & ugly cactus a beautiful flower had grown

And the unsightly carterpillar had been transformed into the most beautiful butterfly.

GOD always does things right!

His way is ALWAYS the best way, even if to us it seems all wrong.

If you asked God for one thing and received another, TRUST.

You can be sure that He will always give you what you need at the appropriate time.

What you want.......is not always what you need!

God never fails to grant our petitions, so keep on going for Him without doubting or murmuring.

Today’s THORN...

Is tomorrow’s FLOWER!

GOD GIVES THE VERY BEST TO THOSE WHO LEAVE THE CHOICES UP TO HIM!

"The beautiful spring came; and when nature resumes her loveliness,

the human soul is apt to revive also."

You Are Special
"SPECIAL" is a word that is used to
describe something one -of-a-kind.
Like a hug or a sunset

It has been raining this week.
I took this through the window through the rain
and as you can see it has knocked all my Japanese weeping
cherry tree blossoms to the ground pretty well.

3 dear little Momiji dolls
The one on the far right my daughter Kim bought for me
I bought the pink one in the middle in Vancouver and
Janet a dear layd bought me the green one.

and it is for spreading love.

Our family is a circle of love and strength. With every birth and every union, the circle grows. Every joy shared adds more love. Every obstacle faced together makes the circle stronger.

A baby asked God, 'They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?' God said, 'Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you.'

The child further inquired, 'But tell me, here in heaven I don't have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy.' God said, 'Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you. And you wil l feel your angel's love and be very happy.'

Again the child asked, 'And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don't know the language?' God said, 'Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak.'
'And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?' God said, 'Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray.'

'Who will protect me?' God said, 'Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life.'

'But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore.' God said, 'Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you.'

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, 'God, if I am to leave now, please tell me my angel' s name.'

God said, 'You will simply call her, 'Mom.'

Lift a mother's spirit, send this to every mother you know (no matter how old her child is)

A Mother

The young mother set her foot on the path of life. "Is this the long way?" she asked.
And God answered her "Yes, this way is hard, and you will be old before you reach the end of it. But the end will be better than the beginning."
But the young mother was happy, and she would not believe that anything could be better than these years. So she played with her children, she fed them and bathed them, taught them how to tie their shoes and ride a bike, and reminded them to feed the dog and do their homework and brush their teeth. The sun shone on them and the young Mother cried, "Nothing will ever be lovelier than this."
Then the nights came, and the storms and the path was sometimes dark, and the children shook with fear and cold, and the mother drew them close and covered them with her arms and the children said, "Mother, we are not afraid, for you are near, and no harm can come."
And the morning came, and there was a hill ahead, and the children climbed and grew weary, and the mother was weary. But at all times she said to the children, a little patience and we are there."
So the children climbed and as they climbed they learned to weather the storms. And with this, she gave them strength to face the world.
Year after year she showed them compassion, understanding, and hopes, but most of all...unconditional love.
And when they reached the top they said, "Mother, we would not have done it without you."
The days went on, and the weeks and the months and the years, and the mother grew old and she became little and bent. But her children were tall and strong, and walked with courage. And the mother, when she lay down at night, looked up at the stars and said, "This is a better day than the last, for my children have learned so much and are now passing these traits on to their children."
And when the way became rough for her, they lifted her, and gave her their strength, just as she had given them hers. One day they came to a hill, and beyond the hill they could see a shining road and golden gates flung wide.
And Mother said: "I have reached the end of my journey. And now I know the end is better than the beginning, for my children can walk with dignity and pride, with their heads held high, and so can their children after them."
And the children said, "You will always walk with us, Mother, even when you have gone through the gates."
And they stood and watched her as she went on alone, and the gates closed after her.
And they said: "We cannot see her, but she is with us still. A
Mother is more than a memory. She is a living presence. Your Mother is always with you. She's the whisper of the leaves as you walk down the street, she's the smell of certain foods you remember, flowers you pick and perfume that she wore, she's the cool hand on your brow when you're not feeling well, she's your breath in the air on a cold winters day. She is the sound of the rain that lulls you to sleep, the colors of a rainbow, she is your birthday morning. Your Mother lives inside your laughter and she's crystallized in every tear drop.
A mother shows every emotion...happiness, sadness, fear, jealousy, love, hate, anger, helplessness, excitement, joy, sorrows - all the while hoping and praying you will only know the good feelings in life.
She's the place you came from, your first home, and she's the map you follow with every step you take. She's your first love, your first friend, even your first enemy, but nothing on earth can separate you.
Not time, not space, not even death!

Recipe on a google search from this page

watermelon & feta salad

This resplendently pretty-in-pink salad is both beautiful and delicious – and it’s so easy to make you can whip it up in minutes. Just be certain to use the saltiest of feta cheeses or it won’t be enough of a contrary taste to the sticky sweet melon.

ingredients:

¼ seedless watermelon, diced (about 4 cups)

1 cup salty feta cheese, broken into teaspoon-sized lumps

¼ cup chopped fresh flat leaf parsley

excellent quality extra virgin olive oil – to drizzle on top

salt and pepper to taste

directions:

1. Toss watermelon, feta and half of parsley on a platter or in a wide fairly flat serving bowl. Top with remaining parsley, oil and salt and pepper. Serve on watermelon “plates” or eat with your fingers, right from the serving dish.

after-thoughts:

Do NOT serve this salad at room temperature. The feta goes soggy, the watermelon goes a horrible texture and everything tastes quite bland. I know that you are not supposed to be able to taste things that are cold but this salad does not taste good warm. Serve cool...trust me.

recipe origin: Based on both Christine Cushing and Nigella Lawson's recipes

When God created Mothers

When the good Lord was creating mothers, he was into his sixth day of overtime, when an angel appeared and said, "You're doing a lot of fiddling around on this one."
And the Lord said, "Have you read the spec on this one? She has to be completely washable, but not plastic; have 180 moveable parts, all replaceable;run on black coffee and leftovers; have a lap that disappears when she stands up, a kiss that can cure anything from a broken leg to a disappointed love affair, and six pair of hands.
"The angel shook her head slowly and said,"Six pairs of hands...no way."
"It's not the hands that are causing me problems," said the Lord."It's the three pairs of eyes that mothers have to have."
"That's on the standard model?" asked the angel.
The Lord nodded. "One pair that sees through closed doors when she asks, "What are you kids doing in there?" when she already knows. Another here, in the back of her head that sees what she shouldn't, but what she has to know, and of course the ones here in front that can look at a child when he goofs up and say, "I understand and I love you," without so much as uttering a word."
"Lord,"said the angel, touching his sleeve gently, "Rest for now. Tomorrow..."
"I can't," said the Lord. "I'm so close to creating something close to myself. Already I have one who heals herself when she is sick, can feed a family of six on one pound of hamburger and can get a nine year old to stand under a shower.
"The angel circled the model of the mother very slowly."She's too soft," she sighed.
"But tough!" said the Lord excitedly. "You cannot imagine what the mother can do or endure."
"Can she think?"
"Not only think, but she can reason and compromise,"said the Creator. Finally the angel bent over and ran her finger across the cheek.
"There's a leak," she pronounced. "I told you, you were trying to put too much into this model."
"It's not a leak," said the Lord. "It's a tear."
"What's it for?"
"It's for joy, sadness, disappointment, pain, loneliness and pride."
"You're a genius," said the angel. The Lord looked somber, "I didn't put it there."

From a book I adore and read

often

"LOVE YOU FOREVER"

A mother held her new baby and very slowly rocked him back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. And while she held him, she sang:

I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living my baby you'll be.

The baby grew. He grew and he grew and he grew. He grew until he was two years old, and he ran all around the house. He pulled all the books off the shelves. He pulled all the food out of the refrigerator and he took his mother's watch and flushed it down the toilet. Sometimes his mother would say, "This kid is driving me CRAZY!" But at night time, when that two-year-old was quiet, she opened the door to his room, crawled across the floor, looked up over the side of his bed; and if he was really asleep she picked him up and rocked him back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. While she rocked him she sang:

I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living my baby you'll be.

The little boy grew. He grew and he grew and he grew. He grew until he was nine years old. And he never wanted to come in for dinner, he never wanted to take a bath, and when grandma visited he always said bad words. Sometimes his mother wanted to sell him to the zoo! But at night time, when he was asleep, the mother quietly opened the door to his room, crawled across the floor and looked up over the side of the bed. If he was really asleep, she picked up that nine-year-old boy and rocked him back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. And while she rocked him she sang:

I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living my baby you'll be.

The boy grew. He grew and he grew and he grew. He grew until he was a teenager. He had strange friends and he wore strange clothes and he listened to strange music. Sometimes the mother felt like she was in a zoo! But at night time, when that teenager was asleep, the mother opened the door to his room, crawled across the floor and looked up over the side of the bed. If he was really asleep she picked up that great big boy and rocked him back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. While she rocked him she sang:

I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living my baby you'll be.

That teenager grew. He grew and he grew and he grew. He grew until he was a grown-up man. He left home and got a house across town. But sometimes on dark nights the mother got into her car and drove across town. If all the lights in her son's house were out, she opened his bedroom window, crawled across the floor, and looked up over the side of his bed. If that great big man was really asleep she picked him up and rocked him back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. And while she rocked him she sang:

I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living my baby you'll be.

Well, that mother, she got older. She got older and older and older. One day she called up her son and said, "You better come see because I'm very old and sick." So her son came to see her. When he came in the door she tried to sing the song. She sang:

I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always....

But she couldn't finish because she was too old and sick.

The son went to his mother. He picked her up and rocked her back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. And he sang this song:

I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living my Mom you'll be.

When the son came home that night, he stood for a long time at the top of the stairs.

Then he went into the room where his very new baby daughter was sleeping. He picked her up in his arms and very slowly rocked her back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. And while he rocked her he sang:

I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living my baby you'll be.

Another book has tugged at my heartstrings called
Someday~
by Alison McGhee

This was sent to me via an email

Source of it unknown

A man stopped at a flower shop to order some flowers to be wired to his mother who lived two hundred miles away.
As he got out of his car he noticed a young girl sitting on the curb sobbing.
He asked her what was wrong and she replied, “I wanted to buy a red rose for my mother.
But I only have seventy-five cents, and a rose costs two dollars.”
The man smiled and said, “Come on in with me. I’ll buy you a rose.”
He bought the little girl her rose and ordered his own mother’s flowers.
As they were leaving he offered the girl a ride home.
She said, “Yes, please! You can take me to my mother.”
She directed him to a cemetery, where she placed the rose on a freshly dug grave.
The man returned to the flower shop, canceled the wire order, picked up a bouquet and drove the two hundred miles to his mother’s house.

Two Horses

Just up the road from
my home is a field, with two horses in it.

From a distance, each horse looks like any other horse. But if you stop
your car, or are walking by, you will notice something quite
amazing....

Looking into the eyes of one horse will disclose
that he is blind. His owner has chosen not to have him put down,
but has made a good home for him.

This alone is amazing.

If you stand nearby and listen, you will hear the sound of a bell.

Looking around for the source of the sound, you will see
that it comes from the smaller horse in the field.
Attached to the horse's halter is a small bell.

It lets the blind friend know where
the other horse is, so he can follow.

As you stand and watch these two friends, you'll see
that the horse with the bell is always checking on the blind horse,
and that the blind horse will listen for the bell and then slowly walk
to where the other horse is, trusting that he will not be led astray.

When the horse with the bell returns to the shelter of the
barn each evening, it stops occasionally and looks back, making sure
that the blind friend isn't too far behind to hear the bell.

Like the owners of these two horses, God
does not throw us away just because we are not perfect or because we
have problems or challenges.

He watches over us and even brings others into our lives to help us when we are in need.

Sometimes we are the blind horse being guided by the little
ringing bell of those who God places in our lives.
?Other times
we are the guide horse, helping others to find their way....

Good friends are like that .. You may not always see them, but
you know they are always there.

Please listen for my bell and I'll listen for yours.
And remember...

Be kinder than necessary------Everyone you
meet is fighting some kind of battle.

Live simply,
Love generously,
Care deeply,
Speak kindly....

Leave the rest to
God

The greatest gifts

May we break boundaries,
tear down walls,
and build on the foundation
of goodness inside each of us.
May we look past differences,
gain understanding, and embrace acceptance.
May we reach out to each other,
rather than resist.
May we be better stewards of the earth, protecting, nurturing and replenishing
the beauties of nature.
May we practice gratitude for all we have, rather than complain about our needs.
May we seek cures for the sick, help for the hungry, and love for the lonely.
May we share our talents, give our time, and teach our children.
May we hold hope for the future very tenderly in our hearts and do all we can
to build for bright tomorrows.
and may we
LOVE with our whole hearts,
for that's the only way to love.
