40 Tips for Better Life - 2008

1. Take a 10-30 minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile. It is the ultimate anti-depressant.

2. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day.

3. Buy a DVR and tape your late night shows and get more sleep.

4. When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement, 'My purpose is to __________ today.'

5. Live with the 3 E's -- Energy, Enthusiasm, and Empathy.

6. Play more games and read more books than you did in 2007.

7. Make time to practice meditation, yoga, tai chi, and prayer.
They provide us with daily fuel for our busy lives.

8. Spend time with people over the age of 70 and under the age of 6.

9. Dream more while you are awake.

10. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.

11. Drink green tea and plenty of water. Eat blueberries, wild Alaskan salmon, broccoli, almonds & walnuts.

12. Try to make at least three people smile each day.

13. Clear clutter from your house, your car, your desk and let new and flowing energy into your life.

14. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip, energy vampires, issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.

15. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.

16. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a college kid with a maxed out charge card.

17. Smile and laugh more. It will keep the energy vampires away.

18. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.

19. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

20. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

21. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

22. Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.

23. Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

24. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.

25. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: 'In five years, will this matter?'

26. Forgive everyone for everything.

27. What other people think of you is none of your business.

28. GOD heals almost everything.

29. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

30. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch.

31. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.

32. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.

34. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.

We all need to read this one over and over until it becomes part of who we are!

HOW TO STAY YOUNG

1. Try everything twice. On Madams tombstone (of Whelan's and Madam) she

2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull
you down. (keep this in mind if you are one of those grouches)




3. Keep learning: Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening,
whatever. Never let the brain get idle. "An idle mind is the devil's
workshop." And the devil's name is Alzheimer's!

4. Enjoy the simple things.

2. Laugh often, loud and long! Laugh until you gasp for breath - and

if you have a friend who makes you laugh, spend LOTS and LOTS of time with him or her!

6. The tears happen: Endure, grieve, and then, MOVE ON. The only person who is with us our

entire life, is ourselves. LIVE while you are alive, and live where you are!

7. Surround yourself with what you love: Whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music,

plants, hobbies, whatever - your home is your refuge.

8. Cherish your health. If it's good, preserve it! If it's unstable, improve it. If it is

beyond what you can improve, GET HELP.

9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county, to

a foreign country, but NOT to where the guilt is.

10. Tell the people that you love that you love them - at each opportunity. Make opportunities if you have to!

My husband and I were treated like royalty.

My Aunt by marriage has lost her Father Roy Pare
The last five years have been one loss after another
in our family.
Cherish the loved ones you do have~
They are a blessing~

We had such a lovely time with family members on Friday night.

A movie I would love to get my hands on

Our most loved and adored Father Daniel Bombardier
who took such excellent care of me and my family as he does everyone
in our Parish is leaving in June
to be pastor of two churches in Chatham, Ontario
How we will miss him.
We will have to take some Sunday drives to go and have
mass with him at Blessed Sacrament this summer.
I am much better at hello

My husband and I will be away for a few days this week
So not to worry
A little get away is good for the soul
We will visit with family in the evenings after
honey pie is all done his business meetings for the day~
I plan on bringing some books to read
and rest, relax and rejuvinate
Joy and a little get away here we come~

Family day is declared a Holiday here in Canada tomorrow February 18th.

If we leave any legacy as all it should be that we loved well.

Our family is about remembering what matters

Love Letters Straight from my Heart on Valentine's Day and Always:

A Prayer for my loved ones on Valentine's Day and always

Each and everyone one of us is going through tough times right now, but God
is getting ready to bless you in a way that only He can. Keep the faith.

My instructions were to pick people that I wanted God to bless, and I
picked you.

This prayer is powerful, and prayer is one of the best gifts we receive.

There is no cost but a lot of rewards. Let's continue to pray for one
another.


The prayer:

Father, I ask You to bless my friends, relatives and those that I care
deeply for, who are reading this right now. Show them a new revelation of
your love and power. Holy Spirit, I ask You to minister to their spirit at
this very moment. Where there is pain, give them your peace and mercy. Where
there is self-doubt, release a renewed confidence through your grace. Where
there is need, I ask you to fulfill their needs. Bless their homes,

Two Horses

Just up the road from my home is a field, with two horses in it.
From a distance, each horse looks like any other horse. But if you stop your car, or are walking by, you will notice something quite amazing....

Looking into the eyes of one horse will disclose that he is blind. His owner has chosen not to have him put down, but has made a good home for him.

This alone is amazing.
If you stand nearby and listen, you will hear the sound of a bell.
Looking around for the source of the sound, you will see that it comes from the smaller horse in the field .

Attached to the horse's halter is a small bell.

It lets the blind friend know where the other horse is , so he can follow.
As you stand and watch these two friends, you'll see that the horse with the bell is always checking on the blind horse, and that the blind horse will listen for the bell and then slowly walk to where the other horse is, trusting that he will not be led astray.

When the horse with the bell returns to the shelter of the barn each evening, it stops occasionally and looks back, making sure that the blind friend isn't too far behind to hear the bell.

Like the owners of these two horses, God does not throw us away just because we are not perfect or because we have problems or challenges.

He watches over us and even brings others into our lives to help us when we are in need.

Sometimes we are the blind horse being guided by the little ringing bell of those who God places in our lives.

Other times we are the guide horse, helping others to find their way....

Good friends are like that... you may not always see them, but you know they are always there.

Please listen for my bell and I'll listen for yours. And remember...
be kinder than necessary-
everyone you meet is fighting
some kind of battle.

Care deeply,
Speak kindly....
Leave the rest to God!

I thank God for my beautiful friends, family and those that truly love me.

My husband and I went to our first mission mass last night where the fabulous
Father Richard Fragomeni spoke and it was so uplifting and motivational.
7:00-8:30 PM Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.
We will be at every one. We are so lucky to have him speaking at our Parish.
It is our 50th anniversary mission.............
Everyone left in smiles, enlightened, and full of hope for the future.
The world needs so much more of people like him~
Our two Parish priests were there as well and are just like him
