LIVING

Other people attempt to live their lives backwards; they try to have more things or more money, in order to do more of what they want, so they will be happier. The way it actually works is the reverse. You must first be who you really are, then do what you need to do, in order to have what you want.

Margaret Mead (1901-1978)

The art of living is always to make a good thing out of a bad thing.

May 29th Happy Birthday to our daughter Kim

Happy Birthday to our lovely daughter Kim
May 29th!
Here she is in Seoul a picture I took

May Heaven smile softly and hear your every wish!
We love you all so much
We miss you all so much!

Happy Birthday Kim!

Be A Queen

Be a queen. Dare to be different.
Be a pioneer. Be a leader.
Be the kind of woman who in the face of adversity
will continue to embrace life and walk fearlessly
toward the challenge.
Take it on! Be a truth seeker and rule your domain,
whatever it is--your home, your office, your family
with a loving heart.
Be a queen. Be tender.
Continue to give birth to new ideas
and rejoice in your womanhood. . .
My prayer is that we will stop wasting time
being mundane and mediocre. . .
We are daughters of God--here to teach
the world how to love. . .
It doesn't matter what you've been through,
where you come from, who your parents are
--nor your social or economic status.
None of that matters.
What matters is how you choose to love,
how you choose to express that love through your work,
through your family,
through what you have to give to the world. . .
Be a queen. Own your power and your glory!
~Oprah

My Love

Every time I hear this song I cry........it is one of my absolute favorites.
I have seen Paul McCartney a few times in concert and this song
and the Long and Winding Road are my two favorites

Notes to my Son by Vesna Bailey

Bless Shoe real good darlings!

Book Recommendation I acted upon:

As read in today's Windsor Star an article my Marty Gervais
and I went to Indigo's and bought the book.
I also want to get the Planet Earth DVD series.............
so many lovely things to sit and enjoy while out in the garden
books and tea and thee

From the book
Notes to my Son
By Vesna Bailey

Love yourself.

Believe in yourself.

You are amazing.

Read.

Even 10 minutes a day.

Force yourself if you have to, but visit an art gallery/museum and go to a symphony or a theatre at least once a year.

Be aware of what is going on in the world. Try to fit it into the big picture of what you already know.

Help an elderly person cut their grass, offer a ride, help them plant a garden.

Do not be quick to judge others.

When you are feeling most vulnerable, remember your family that loves you, your friends that cherish you, your achievements.... When things seem overwhelming, be thankful that you are alive.

  • Life is an adventure in learning -- discover it, live it, savour it, love it.

  • I love these wonderful words of advice............when your heart speaks take good notes!

You Give a Little Love and it All Comes Back to You

My fabulous relative Rob shared this photo with me of two of his handsome sons,
(they have 3)
Summer time fun do you remember all the nostaligic times
of your youth and summertime dreams?

YOU GIVE A LITTLE LOVE
(FROM THE PARAMOUNT MOTION PICTURE "BUGSY MALONE")
(FROM THE NATIONAL YOUTH MUSIC THEATRE STAGE SHOW "BUGSY MALONE")
(also parts are in the coke commericals)
(Lyrics & Music Paul Williams)

We could've been anything
That we wanted to be
And it's not too late to change
I'd be delighted to give it some thought
May-be you'll agree that we really ought
Two, three, four)

We could've been anything
That we wanted to be)

Yes, that decision was ours
It's been decided we're weaker divided)

Let friendship double up our powers)

We could've been anything
That we wanted to be
And I'm not saying that we should
But if we try it, we'd learn to abide it
We could be the best at bein' good guys)

Flowers of the earth
Who can even guess how much
A real friend is worth?
Good guys, shake an open hand)

May-be trusting
If we try to understand
No doubt about it
It must be worthwhile
Good friends do tend to make you smile)

We could've been anything
That we wanted to be
Yes, that decision is ours
It's been decided we're weaker divided
Let friendship double our powers)

You give a little love
And it all comes back to you
(Da da da ra da da da)
You know you gonna be remembered
For the things you say and do
(Da da da ra da da da)

You give a little love
Andit all comes back to you
(Da da da ra da da da)
You know you gonna be remembered
For the things you say and do
(Da da da ra da da da)
(Repeat and fade)

Jeanne the Blonde Cook

A street I walked down daily in Seoul
I found my Lush stuff too.
Ate at China Blue one day and many fine restaurants!
When Honey Pie says what is for dinner darling
I say RESERVATIONS!
Smile darlings!

Here is me
The Blonde Cook
Monday:
It's fun to cook for Paul. Today I made angel food cake. The recipe
said beat 12 eggs separately. The neighbors were nice enough to loan me
some extra bowls.

Tuesday
Paul wanted fruit salad for supper. The recipe said serve without
dressing. So I didn't dress. What a surprise when Paul brought a friend
home for supper.

Wednesday
A good day for rice. The recipe said wash thoroughly before steaming
the rice. It seemed kind of silly but I took a bath anyway. I can't
say it improved the rice any.

Thursday
Today Paul asked for salad again. I tried a new recipe. It said
prepare ingredients, then toss on a bed of lettuce one hour before
serving. Paul asked me why I was rolling around in the garden.

Friday
I found an easy recipe for cookies. It said put the ingredients in
bowl and beat it. There must have been something wrong with this
recipe. When I got back, everything was the same as when I left.

Saturday
Paul did the shopping today and brought home a chicken. He asked me to
dress it for Sunday (oh boy!) For some reason Paul keeps counting to
ten.

Sunday
Paul's relatives came to dinner. I wanted to serve roast but all I had was
hamburger. Suddenly I had a flash of genius. I put the hamburger in
the oven and set the controls for roast. It still came out hamburger,
much to my disappointment.

GOOD NIGHT DEAR DIARY. This has been a very exciting week. I am eager
for tomorrow to come so I can try out a new recipe on Paul. If I can
talk Paul into buying a bigger oven, I would like to surprise him with
Chocolate Moose.

I remember when rock was young
Me and Suzie had so much fun
Holdin hands and skimming stones
Had an old gold Chevy and a place of my own.

Smile it increases your face value:

We all need to read this one over and

over until it becomes part of who we are!

HOW TO STAY YOUNG

1. Try everything twice. On Madams tombstone (of Whelan's and Madam) she said she wanted this epitaph: Tried everything twice...loved it both times!

2. Keep only cheerful friends.
The grouches pull you down. (keep this in mind if you are one of those grouches;)

3. Keep learning : Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain get idle.

4. Enjoy the simple things.

5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath. And if you have a friend who makes you laugh, spend lots and lots of time with HIM/HER.

6. The tears happen: Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. LIVE while you are alive.

7. Surround yourself with what you love: Whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.

8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county, to a foreign country, but NOT to where the guilt is.

10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.
I love you, my special friend.

11. Forgive now those who made you cry. You might not get a second time.

Lost time can never be found.

Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

Dream a Little Dream of Me

It was wonderful to spend time with our loved ones in Asia.
We are so very very proud of them.

The kind of life dreams are made of!

At the Gyeongbukgong Palace in Seoul
I'm dreaming of all the fabulous Asian Adventures our loved ones took us on.
It was the trip of a lifetime.
I miss them all dearly!

a new country."

Tuesday Again

We have been catching up on rest and season finales to our favorite shows and enjoying our gardens and yard.
We plan to rent the Painted Veil today. I heard it is very good.

This love story has Kitty meeting young, intelligent, shy and somewhat dull Dr. Walter Fane, whose forte is the study of infectious diseases, and the convenient marriage that she finds herself committed too. It is in this web of intrigue that they head for China, only after Walter discover's Kitty's infidelity with one dashing and witty Diplomat Charlie Townsend. So much as to hide her from herself and to help thwart a cholera outbreak, this is a marriage more than on the rocks. This is a cold, indifferent and loveless partnership in a vast unknown and deadly environment that will test both these flightless lovebirds and with the hardships and tolerances more than any had ever anticipated. A visual delight amidst the pain and suffering of a dying people and failing marriage. Will a cure be found for both, before it's too late?

Family Sacred Times in Asia

The blessings for which we hunger
are not to be found in other places
or people
Those gifts can only be given to you
by yourself
They are at home
in the hearth of
your soul.

Home Sweet Home

Seoul Spring 2007

It was so wonderful for our hearts to be renuited with our family in Asia
and share their lives...........
We had fabulous times and they treated us like royalty.
We are truly blessed.
It was the trip of a lifetime.

To travel is great,
but to be home........is wonderful as well.
We have gathered love to see us through until our hearts can share moments again
one on one........
We have gathered memory making moments for a lifetime.
The goodbye was hard for us all.
I am very torn once again.
Luckily many friends will cheer me as will my loved ones.
I miss our loved ones so far away each and everyday
but what an enchanted life they lead.
They are happy and lead a life most would only dream of.

There is no place like home sweet home.
Must rest and rejuvinate now darlings from our long long long time away.

Ah memories to reflect upon and smiles galore.
I love you darlings!
I have missed you all.
My mail box was brimming when I got home.
Thank you for your love!
Will be offline for a couple of weeks
I must visit with my family, spend time with my Grandmother and my home
and loved ones.....and my call of nature I hear it.........
me in our garden with lilacs blooming and everything
beautiful in our yard we came home to a paradise!
I need time to reflect and rejuvinate.
You are in my heart!
